A selection of sixteen students from the departments of Directing, Dramaturgy, Theatre and Theatre Management of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, from the Department of Dramaturgy, Directing and Theatrology of the Arts Academy in Banská Bystrica and from the Janáček Academy of Arts in Brno will be allowed to visit playsstagedas part of the festival’s main programme over the course of 5 days, to meet with mentors Ján Šimkoand Dáša Čiripová – members of the festival’s Foreign Dramaturgy Board – in order to become better acquainted with the functioning of the festival and the way productions are selected, but also to take a look into the ‘backstage’.

Together with the mentors, students will analyse theatrical texts and theatrical productions, and join talks with authorsand performing actors at morning festival discussions titled Breakfast with… Production authors, theatre theorists, critics and practitioners will also be present at the individual activities of the informal education programme, which will enable students to forman overviewof contemporary trends in world theatre. Exclusively, they will also have the opportunity to join a masterclass of a different project organised by the Association – the V4@Theatre Critics Residency, led by German theatrologist Thomas Irmer.
