In 2018, Association Divadelná Nitra joined the international project Be SpectACTive!. Over the upcoming four years, it will organise a wide range of activities focusing on participation
and audience development. Be SpectACTive!
Is a large‑scale European collaborative project whose network joins 19 organisations in 18 cities and 15 European countries. Within the framework of the project, Association Divadelná Nitra endeavours to move from creation FOR audiences to creation WITH audiences. Its aim is to activate audiences in Nitra, inspire civil participation in the cultural life in town, provide education in the field of culture and develop community life. In the long‑term, we aim to contribute to forming Nitra residents who feel responsible for what happens in their city. The Association thereby purports to entrench Nitra on the map of modern creative European cities, following the concept of an ‘eventful city’. The project also fulfils important objectives in promoting local artistic production. However, its outputs are not locally specific – to the contrary, they stimulate connections on the international scene.
