34th Divadelná Nitra is about to open!

34th annual edition of the International Theatre Festival Divadelná Nitra is about to open on Friday 6 June t close on 11 June 2025. After two years is it returning to its original main venue – The Andrej Bagar Theatre.
The 2025 edition will feature 14 productions from Austria, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Russia, and Slovakia. This includes three theatre projects created on the invitation of the Festival and will première at the Festival. The Festival also provides unique contact with Russian and Belarusian artists whose professional and personal lives were radically affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Some, despite the possible risk, continue to work at least in art in their homeland. Nitra will thus once again become theatre crossroads between the East and West. The leitmotif of the 34th edition is Right(s) Here and Right(s) Now. The Festival thus highlights its dedication to reflect on the hottest social and political issues and, in particular, the value of free artistic expression.
