International Theatre Festival Divadelná Nitra enters its 33rd edition with the leitmotif new view. It points not only to the new, June date of one of the major theatre events in Slovakia, but also to the urgent need to reflect on the new socio–political situation at home and in Europe. From 8 to 12June, the Festival will present six productions from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary within the main programme and will expand beyond the city Nitra, to Bratislava and Košice. The prologue of the Festival at the Košice-based National Theatre is held from 5 to 7 June as a showcase of all three Košice ensembles – drama, ballet and opera. The Nitra-based partner theatres, The Karol Spišák Old Theatre and The Andrej Bagar Theatre will present their latest productions as part of Nitra for Nitra day.
