At the end of January, Association Divadelná Nitra published an open call for joining the Audience Programme Board as part of the international project BeSpectACTive!. Interest in this exciting opportunity to become involved in the largest international theatre festival in Slovakia and have a glimpse behind its scene was equally strong this year. The first meeting of the Audience Programme Board took place on 24 February 2022 in the bod.K7 culture space. Its purpose was mainly for the members to meet each other, introduce the project’s rules and become familiar with the benefits following from participation. “It was joined by most of the 25 applicants, and 13 of these had worked with us on previous festival editions. This year, it is a fairly diverse group with people of all ages ranging from university students to seniors. Like in previous years, this time, too, the board is dominated by ladies,” added Audience Programme Board coordinator Miro Zwiefelhofer. The expectations of those who decided to take part in preparations for the 31. International Theatre Festival Divadelná Nitra vary. They shared these at our kick-off meeting, and we here present a selection:
